Gods Righteous wind of change
can bring healing, abundance, peace, manifestation, destruction, breakthrough,
victory, and freedom from bondage.
We know that all throughout
the Bible God used elements such as fire, water, wind, and even an
earthquake-as in Acts 16:26(NIV): “Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundation of the
prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s
shackles were unfastened.”
Jeremiah 10:13(NIV) says
“When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he
causes the vapors to ascend form the ends of the earth. He makes lightning’s for the rain and brings
forth the wind out from his treasuries
and from his storehouses.”
Exodus 10:19(NIV): “And the
Lord turned a violent west wind, which lifted the locusts, and drove them into the
Red sea; not one locust remained in all the country of Egypt.”
Psalm 135: 7(NIV): “Who
causes the vapors to arise from the ends of the earth, Who makes lightnings for
the rain, Who brings the wind out of
His storehouses;”
Exodus10:13 (NIV): “And Moses
stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the
land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind
brought the locusts.”
Numbers 11:31- “And there
went forth a wind from the Lord….”
Job 21:17-18- “How often is
the candle of the wicked extinguished, and how often comes their destruction
upon them……They are as stubble before the wind,
and as chaff carried away by the storm.”
Jeremiah 61:1- “Thus says the
Lord; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon and against….those who rise up
against me, a destroying wind…”
Hosea 8:7a- “For they have
sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind….”
During a campaign event in Virginia on October 22,
2008, then Senator Barack Obama was quoted as stating: “I feel like we’ve got a
righteous wind at our backs.”
Author Janice Daugharty
titled her first Christian novel “ A Righteous Wind.”
The website www.windsofjustice.org a website
devoted to applying the Divine Wind or Word of God describes that the phrase “Wind from the Lord” is used by holy scripture to
symbolize the force of God’s spirit bringing great, even revolutionary change
to society.
From the wind pushing back the Red Sea waters so the
children of Israel could escape Egyptian bondage, to the wind ordered by prophet Ezekiel to breathe life
into the corpses of his people, to the rushing mighty wind bringing holy spirit anointing to the
apostles at Pentecost, these “winds” of
Scripture transfer the will and power of God to the human community.
